I first came across Dough Boy on Grab, thinking it was just a takeaway spot.

The surprise came one evening: after a dinner at Mauu, I stumbled upon the restaurant, freshly opened, even though the sign wasn't up yet. I promised myself I'd come back very soon to eat in.

The place is really nice, with a very 60s orange-toned decor and a slightly dim, cosy atmosphere. Not many customers yet, but that shouldn't last. The restaurant is on the small side, with about ten seats, and the full menu isn't available yet. During my visit, not everything was on offer: the pasta and desserts would have tempted me for sure.

I really enjoyed the lunch set from $5: a smaller pizza, a side (fries or salad) and a drink. Since there were two of us, we got to try two different pizzas, my favourite being the pepperoni pizza.

I love pizza, but not every kind: I have a real soft spot for Neapolitan pizzas, with their thick, fluffy crust. And on that front, Dough Boy hits the mark perfectly, at least in the full size. In the smaller version, I found the crust a little tougher.

Another plus: a perfect, central location, a stone's throw from everything. Langka Lane is a truly charming little street, packed with restaurants I love, like Mauu and Houb Houb.

Since the desserts weren't available yet, it's just a few steps to Villa Keng Kang for an ice cream or a bubble tea.

All in all, an address to keep an eye on. I'll happily be back, especially to try the full menu.
